26th of January 2010 - The Technological Institute of Informatics Concerning Intelligent Optimization Systems


The Technological Institute of Informatics is betting on the investigation, development and implementation of a new generation of tools called SOI´s - Intelligent Optimization Solutions

This type of technological solutions incorporates intelligent systems capable of analyzing and processing an immense amount of variables and data, in minimum time, achieving optimal solutions.
According to Enrique Selma, Director of the Marketing and Commercial Department of the ITI, the key to business success is that companies are every time more competitive.  To have tools that help to make decisions and that optimize resources is critical to secure that competitiveness on the part of the companies.
The 28th edition of the Salón de la Cerámica has been the space chosen by the Technological Institute of Informatics to present its optimization solutions, participating as an exhibitor in the Salón de la Maquinaria, Cevisama 2010.

Taking advantage of the coverage of this event and the affluence of companies in the ceramic sector, one of the potential consumers of these solutions, the Technological Institute of Informatics will organize a technological event on the 11th of February that will be held at the Centro de Eventos de Feria Valencia. During this event the ITI will present optimization solutions adapted to different areas of the company and the ITI will show success stories of their implementation in different industrial and business sectors.
As a result of this intensive research, development and innovation undertaken by the ITI, they have developed powerful software tools that, applied to companies, help solving problems  and improving processes in different areas (provisioning , energy efficiency, resource allocation, route planning, etc.).

ControlStocks and SeKuen are two SOI´s developed by the ITI that help to increase the responsiveness of companies and the quality of the service offered to the customer, enabling the company to better anticipate to the demand, conducting a production that meets the deadlines while controlling production costs.

ControlStocks realizes in an easy way a production planning through sales forecasts and production values, from a detailed statistical analysis of the sales of each product. This software allows to analyze trends, seasonality and to correct production deviations. The advantages are among others; produce only what you are going to sell, reduce the accumulated stock, reduce costs of management, control and maintenance of inventories, and ultimately provide better service and greater customer satisfaction.

After the planning developed by ControlStocks, the SeKuen tool allows to realize optimized production scheduling with finite capacity and in a very short time.

The production scheduling problem is real and complex, each production batch of a product goes through different stages and in each one of these there are several machines that can carry out the work. A production schedule failure may lead to more changes in the configuration of machines than needed. Therefore, only through modern optimization algorithms it is possible to realize a production schedule effectively.

Both tools have been implemented in important companies in the tile industry like Porcelanosa and Colorker and are also implemented with great success in other sectors than the ceramic sector.
Other SOI´s that will be discussed during the event and that will be exposed in the Salón de la Maquinaria de Cevisama treat the improvement and optimization of industrial processes through solutions of automation, integration and monitoring. As well as the automation of the processes of document management through ICR / OCR technologies. Or energy efficiency solutions as a source of cost reduction in companies.

Finally, in an effort to come closer to those Intelligent Optimization Solutions, the ITI will offer an advisory service to interested companies on the various financial possibilities for the implantation of SOI´s.
